By adding coagulants and flocculants, the sewage can be precipitated again, and the suspended particles can be further removed, and the suspended solids and total phosphorus can be reduced. Compared with other sedimentation tanks, the efficient sedimentation tank has the advantages of small footprint, high efficiency and high hydraulic loading. De-nitrification deep bed filter is composed of rectangular treatment units. Each treatment unit has six layers of cobblestone and quartz sand layered at the bottom. It plays a role of mechanical filtration and physical adsorption. It is like a "water purifier" used at home. It can remove suspended solids in water and reduce nitrogen, phosphorus and other pollutants. In addition, the deep bed filter can further remove the total nitrogen in the water through the "denitrifying bacteria" in the pond.

Xinzhou Sewage Treatment Plant upgraded the effluent quality standard to four categories of water. This water will not only make the Yongjiang River "drink" high-quality water, effectively reduce the total amount of pollutants discharged into the river, but also be used as environmental water, ecological water supplement for the construction of Xiaogang Binjiang New Town, and even as a supplementary water source for the surrounding industrial water.
