How to use ceramic membrane correctly to prolong its service life?

The service life of ceramic membrane not only means that the membrane does not have mechanical damage, but also refers to the effective filtration time of the membrane.

Ceramic membrane has attracted more and more attention because of its excellent performance and wide range of applications. We all know that ceramic membrane has the advantages of stable structure, high temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, high separation efficiency, high mechanical strength and long service life. But if it is not used properly or wrongly, its service life will be greatly reduced. Therefore, the ceramic membrane should be used correctly in mechanical operation. The proper use of membrane should be divided into three steps: handle with care before use - avoid air entering during use - and clean it in time after using.

There are three kinds of ceramic membrane materials: zirconia, aluminum oxide and titanium dioxide. When installing and handling the membrane, collision and vibration should be avoided as far as possible, and the bottom of the membrane tube packing box should be supported. Inspection method: put the membrane vertically, block the lower end, fill each channel with water from the upper end, and observe whether there is abnormal leakage on the outer surface of the membrane. If there is abnormal leakage, it means that the membrane has been damaged and cannot be used.

When using, in order to prevent the membrane from being damaged, unstable flow (water flow impact), gas-liquid mixing, vibration and pump idling should be avoided; the liquid level of raw material tank should be higher than the inlet position of the pump, so as not to cause the pump to inhale air; no air should enter the membrane filtration system during startup and production. The corresponding membrane should be replaced according to the different material liquid because different raw materials use different specifications of ceramic membrane.

After shutdown, the medium should be emptied and the membrane should be cleaned in the system. The membrane used for the first time or has not been used for a long time (more than 48 hours) shall be circularly cleaned. The method is as follows: alkali washing: cleaning with NaOH solution with the temperature of 80 ℃ and concentration of 15-20g / L for 30 minutes, and then rinsing to neutral with water; acid washing: cleaning with 58% HNO3 solution at 50 ℃ and concentration of 5ml / L for 15 minutes, and then rinsing to neutral with water.

The regeneration method of membrane is the basis of long-term operation. According to the characteristics of ceramic membrane, three kinds of in-situ regeneration methods can be adopted, i.e. direct washing with water, front washing with slurry and reverse washing with water.
