1. Classification of membrane bioreactor (MBR) process systems

According to the relative position of biochemical system and membrane separation system, MBR can be divided into two types: Separated MBR and Integrated MBR.


Separated MBR is to place membrane components in a separate membrane tank outside the biochemical system, which is characterized by clear grouping of membrane components, good operation environment, and easy to operate independently, clean and repair. Integrated MBR is to place membrane components directly in biochemical system, which is characterized by saving land occupation. But it is not conducive to the grouping of membrane components and the laying of supporting pipelines.

2. Selection of MBR process system

For urban sewage treatment projects, due to the large scale, the operation environment of membrane components, sludge concentration control, the requirements for nitrogen and phosphorus removal, and energy consumption reduction requirements, negative pressure suction immersion MBR process is generally adopted.
