The membrane separation process takes the membrane as the separation medium. When there is a medium driving force (such as pressure difference, concentration difference, potential difference, etc.) on both sides of the membrane, the components of the feed liquid selectively penetrate the membrane to achieve the purpose of separation and purification.

 

Liquid membrane separation process mainly refers to microfiltration, ultrafiltration, Nano filtration and reverse osmosis. These pressure driven membrane separation processes can be used for solution purification, extraction, separation and concentration. From microfiltration, ultrafiltration, Nano filtration and reverse osmosis, the size of separated molecules or particles becomes smaller and smaller, so the membrane pore size must become smaller and smaller, which also means that the mass transfer resistance of the membrane increases, so the operating pressure also increases gradually to obtain similar flux.
